Platform sneakers did not die with the Spice Girls. Like most ‘90s trends, these chunky shoes have seen a resurgence. J/Slides Footwear is right on target with the Beauty sneaker in a blush suede Baby Spice would love. These shoes are designed for hours of wear, with an included gel insert, leather lining, and a pretty suede bow just for kicks. The two-inch rubber platform is manageable even if you’re not a huge fan of heels.
If you are though, don’t miss Free People’s Liberty boot. Instead of traditional black, these babies are an eye-catching taupe. Designed in Spain, these boots have rubber heels and are covered in luxurious suede. They have an inside zipper that stays hidden. The block heel and squared toe give you plenty of stability with each step you take. Their over-the-knee style is totally trendy.
Another winner from Free People that will get you in the mood for spring is the At Ease loafer. Covered in a silver metallic leather, these slip-ons come with a padded footbed. They’re so cozy you’ll never want to take them off, and we don’t blame you! They have a slightly stacked heel and a square toe, perfect for going to the boardroom to brunch and back again.
Combine spring and summer footwear in one with the Andrew Stevens Terra gold-crinkled sneakers. Made with an espadrille platform less than inch tall, these shoes have a rubber sole. With their leather insoles and lace closures, they’re beautiful, and the gold leather toe is the perfect complement to these white shoes. They’re classy enough that you can easily pair them with your favorite dress.
Ashley Cole’s Sicily black leather heels are showstoppers through and through. Made in Brazil, these booties have a 0.25-inch hidden platform and four-and-a-half-inch slim heel. Laser-cut details throughout the shoe in lines, triangles, and other patterns give feet plenty of room to breathe. These shoes are made entirely of leather. Wear them with a pair of boyfriend jeans, a fierce pencil skirt, skinny jeans, leggings, or just about anything.
Get punky in the Sol Sana Bailey black suede boots. These ankle booties have a moderate two-inch heel, so they’re perfect for everyday wear. Their wraparound leather buckles play nicely with the suede. These will become part of your weekend uniform.
Slides are anything but lazy when you’re wearing the Joie Andres black studded slides. Also made of sleek suede, these slip-ons have studs throughout. Their pointed toe gives them some punk cred. You can only find this fantastic footwear at Shop Splash.
